How to Style a Leopard Skirt for Fall

I got leopard on my mind! This print is everywhere lately and so bold and fun! Leopard for fall is one of those timeless prints you can pull out time and time again. I’ve seen the print on everything from bags, to skirts to hair ties and shoes! Never have I owned anything leopard besides a pair of shoes and a blouse. Now I am obsessed with this midi style leopard skirt and plan on wearing it all season. Got my leopard power!

During the week, my sister and I ventured to a local pumpkin patch and shot these photos. It was so cloudy which makes for picture perfect lighting. No shadows whatsoever! We had planned on having a few friend join us for a mini photo shoot where we all dressed up and then picked out pumpkins to paint. Well, the plans fell through after the second time trying, so it was just my sis and I. We still had fun though! To end the night, we ordered our favorite Lebanese take out, ate dinner outside on the porch and watched the sunset.

I’d like to say I dress up this cute for a pumpkin patch any day but it was totally the perfect basic white girl fall backdrop for the leopard outfit. I had to do it for the blog and gram! 😉 If you haven’t seen this meme about Hot Girl Summer turned Christian Girl Autumn, it’s hilarious! I deff don’t define myself as a basic white girl. Don’t like PSL, never even drink coffee, rarely wear scarves and truly hate leggings but I still find it so funny! It’s like the VSCO girl trend! Have you heard of it!? Every year that I get older, I feel like I slowly inch away from being in the loop. I’m amazed that I even know what that is.

What really drew me to the skirt was the subtle leopard print. Not to bold, not totally unnoticeable. It has a very ladylike look to it and less cheetah girl! Was anyone obsessed with the Cheetah Girls on Disney channel?! Where was this skirt when I was 15?! Who am I kidding, I would have probably hated any attention I got if I wore a silky leopard skirt to HS! Back then I was much more shy and timid.

Most of the leopard skirts I am finding online are made of a very silky material, including the one I’m wearing. It’s sold out but I found an extremely similar option here. This style also seems to be flying off the shelves. I’m not one to tell you that you need something to live but if your have been seriously considering buying a new fall skirt, sooner is better than later. Most of the under $100 options I am finding only have a few size options lefts.

The best tops that work with this style of silky skirts are cropped sweaters or a very silky top. As a heads up, the skirt shows every lump and bump. With a cropped sweater, there’s no worry about a bulky tummy area. A very lightweight t-shirt or a silky blouse tucked in would also look beautiful styled with the skirt.

My cropped sweater is from Shein. It’s similar to Cupshe, Romwe and Zaful. I absolutely do not recommend buying anything from these stores. Just want to be transparent where I got it from. In my opinion, the clothing is very cheaply made and low quality. The advertising, pricing and photos look promising but the quality is not! The reason I own this sweater is because I ordered my little nieces a few sweaters last year for Christmas presents. They love the store and like affordable trendy options, so I wanted to give them sweaters they would actually wear.

I was curious about the website, so I ordered the pink front tie sweater for myself. Let’s just say online it did not look cropped, yet on my 5’8 frame, it’s only flattering with high waisted bottoms. My little petite 5’1 and 5’2 nieces looked cute in most of the sweaters, I however looked like a jolly green giant ha!

I could tell immediately that was your sister! Despite the different style, you guys look a lot alike in the eyes!
You know, I had this skirt in my cart for the longest time, and never pulled the trigger. It looks fantastic on you here, but I’m glad I didn’t get it since you said it shows every imperfection-I don’t need that!

Kristen! As soon as I read this comment I told my sister! We’ve been told we looks like twins for years now, so I’m not surprised! Yes girl, you’d be so cute in a pleated one with a thicker material!
