I’m back with a new colorful outfit post! Winter is when I really embrace wearing bright colors the most! I am a big believer in clothes making your mood better, especially bright colors in the winter. Even though I work from home, I love getting dressed everyday and always feel such a difference in my mood, energy and productivity.

You know what fun holiday is super soon?! Valentine’s Day! When I shot these photos, I did not even think of wearing this outfit for V-Day. This post is kind of a 2-for-1! A winter outfit you can also wear on Valentine’s Day. A pink monochromatic skirt and sweater combo would be the cutest Valentine’s Day outfit!

Florida this year has had the prettiest weather this winter! Almost every single day, we can wear sweaters and pants! It’s amazing! This particular day I opted for a puff sleeve sweater and silk skirt combo once it warmed up. Is anyone else super excited that fashion turned casual during 2020?! You can pretty much dress anything down with a pair of white sneakers and still feel cute. I added my favorite pink velvet scrunchie as an accessory and use it to tie my hair back when I’m working from home!

For a monochromatic look, try pairing your favorite color together in different hues! For example, this skirt I ordered online and it ended up being way brighter (like neon bright) that I expected. When I opened the bag, I was like “WHOA, that product photo was misleading!”. It was even bright for me, a color loving girl, but when I paired it with a blush pink sweater, I loved how to 2 tones compliment each other.

I personally like wearing the lighter color on top and having an ombre like affect with the brighter color on the bottom. A monochromatic palate is not limited to just skirts or sweaters. Try it with blouses, pants, dresses and accessories or even layering with brightly colored matching coats!

Wow, it’s been a few weeks since I last wrote up a blog post. My sister is getting married in less than 20 days! Most of my time has been spent helping to prep for her wedding. Saturday we had a low key Bachelorette party for her and we made the cutest pinch pots at a local ceramic place then watched Bridesmaids!

This week I will have a few new posts so be on the lookout! Running an ETSY shop is the best and I get to be my most creative self. It does take discipline and I have to manage my time well. If I focus on my blog, that grows well and my ETSY shop gets less attention and vice versa. Like last Sunday I sewed and perfected my newest product coming for about 5 hours then never got to writing blog posts. If anyone has good time management magic skills let me know! So far I have not figured out how to balance the 2 evenly and have to divide my time on the weekends between one or the other!

White jeans are my go-to in the winter and spring! You can pretty much wear any top, sweater or jacket with them and it gives a fresh and clean look! I chose to style a pink button up to with jeans and my jacket for a clean and classic look…my favorite! I wore this exact look out to dinner with a friend and felt so cozy and comfy!

If your working from home like I am, you are probably looking for comfortable and simple outfits to feel put together yet not to dressy. I admit, blue jeans are my least favorite type of pant to wear. Wide leg pants are the exception! They add a fun flair and have a looser fit (although these jeans barely fit after quarantine ha!) Jeans and a t-shirts are something everyone has in their closet. Throw on a sweater blazer and voila…a perfect zoom call outfit.

Hey friends! I took a major social media and blogging break over Christmas and into the New Year. Work was on the slower side, so I took it as a que to just take it easy and enjoy my very rare 3 day weekends! It was exactly the rest and reset I needed! I’m feeling excited for 2021 and what’s to come!

Does anyone else love the week between Christmas and New Years?! I have always used it to relax and reflect on the previous year and plan out goals and what I would like the year ahead to look like. 2020 also taught me to take it with a grain of salt, let go of expectations and expect the unexpected. I also spent some time planning out new designs for my ETSY shop and it’s gotten me really really excited. I’ve had all these ideas floating in my head and I finally wrote them down and feel so much lighter.

My family and I took down Christmas last week. Christmas decorations and lights are my favorite. I wanted to hold off as long as I could. At first I felt kind of sad but it forced me to clean my room, dust, organize new Christmas presents and now my room and I are ready to take on 2021!

Even though I took time off from blogging and my ETSY shop over the last 2 weeks, I was still getting dressed every day for work. Work from home life is really the best. Putting on real clothes like this pretty J.Crew Liberty blouse keeps me motivated. Party on the top, business on the bottom with casual jeans is pretty much my work uniform when I’m not in dresses.

Right now, the top is currently on sale for $28 with code NEWYEAR. J.Crew always sells exclusive Liberty London prints and this floral top is one of my favorite prints so far. They are a British print house that always designs the most amazing floral prints! How cute would a matching scrunchie or knot headband be?!

There is beautiful smocking around the neck. It’s similar to a mock neck but truly not as tight or high. This top is a little grand-millennial esque. I would not consider myself a grand-millennial or wear a bunch of frilly or floral pieces but I like the subtle ruffles around the chest and shoulders. It makes the blouse so much more fun!

Typically I wear a XS-Small at J.Crew and sized down to an XS after reading the reviews saying it ran rather large. If I were to order it again, I would buy a Small for the sleeve length. The top runs TTS in my opinion. I have extremely long arms and always have this issue with most tops/jackets.

Floral blouses are one of those items that can be worn *almost* all year. Sorry blouse, I cannot bear wearing you in the summer heat. Style them with denim in the winter and white jeans or skirts in the spring. If your like me, mixing it up and wearing something other than sweaters in the winter is what keeps me excited to get dressed.

Nothing makes me more excited than stripes! If there is a classic winter staple to add into your closet, it’s a long sleeve striped dress! You can style them so many ways for cooler days and still feel like it’s summer! Living in a place that is warm almost always, I love the option of wearing long sleeve with a breeze on the legs!

How’s your weekend going?! Yesterday, I made peanut blossoms with a friend and it was a major fail. They were undercooked and then we made different ones and they burnt. We tried a third batch and they were hard and overcooked! Never had a problem with these cookies before so I am not sure what happened!

Also, every time I make these, I feel like I turn into a big blob of peanut butter because I eat so many of them, ha! Or a big pile of peppermint bark. That sums me up during Christmas time. They say you are what you eat, right?!

Can you believe that the dress is only $19.00?! That is a steal for sure! For the longest time it was sold out in both colors (comes in navy and white). Every few days I would stalk the Old Navy website and when the striped dress finally came back in stock, I jumped on it!

I am wearing a size small and it fits pretty true to size. It’s made of a super stretchy material, so the sleeves are fitted but the body is more relaxed (aka not skin tight!). Don’t want to look like I am going clubbing if you know what I mean. Also, I have extremely long arms and the sleeve hit right above my wrist bone.

Personally, I loved the white striped dress over the navy stripe! Now that I am looking at it though, there are endless possibilities on ways to add pops of color with the navy dress! Both are equally cute and it comes down to preference!

Stripes will always be nautical and transport me back to a warm summer day at the beach. To keep with the theme, I styled the striped dress with a yellow North Face raincoat. Praise the Lord for raincoats! I lived my entire life without one. Then one day my mom gifted me this jacket for Christmas and there’s no turning back. Good bye umbrellas.

How cute would the dress be with some yellow Hunter rain boots. I’ve dreamed of these shoes for forever and just need to bite the bullet one day and buy them! Because that is a cute rainy day look that I need in my life! It wasn’t exactly raining when I took these photos but the weather was yuck.

I paired the dress with white sneakers for a more casual outfit. These are my all time favorite canvas white sneakers and super comfy (only $35!)! They are on rotation all week long! Next time I wear the dress, I might also style it with a causal ball cap!

You could also pair them with loafers and flats! Instead of a rain jacket, try a sweater blazer or a denim jacket for an added layer! Would you like if I did an Instagram reel with a few ways on how to style this dress?! It’s a good way for me to push myself out of my comfort zone and also give you guys some more styling options! This is a very Christmas inspired post with long sleeved green dresses for winter! The house I shot these at just so happened to have green awnings…making it the perfect backdrop for December! We have had such a cold winter here in Florida this year for 2020. Really bizarre! We all wonder, “Will it stay. Will it go? How cold will Jan/Feb be?!” As cold as it’s been, the cooler temps never seem to stay forever and it always warms back up. Last week was 50 and sweater weather, this week it’s 80 and dresses to the rescue!

Long sleeve dresses are one of my go-to’s in the winter months. One, it’s super exciting to be able to wear long sleeves and two, when the upper body is warm there’s really no need for boots or tights. Lately, I have really been drawn to hues of green to bring some cheer to my fall and winter outfits!

This dress was a really popular style from J.Crew Factory and has sold out. It’s a babydoll style and I love the tiers! I found a similar babydoll style here! The evergreen color is versatile enough all of these dresses would be perfect for Christmas parties,, small celebrations at home and worn during winter!

Are you done with Christmas shopping?! I went the Mall at Millenia with my parents this weekend and finished up my Christmas shopping. Usually I am on top of my game. This year going away for Thanksgiving threw me off, so it’s a good feeling checking gifts off my list. Next up is wrapping them! I do this every year. If you wrap your gifts the week before Christmas you get to enjoy the entire week without stressing about getting all the gifts wrapped and other end of the year busyness!

I knew working in e-commerce it was going to be a big year for Christmas gifts but whoa, seeing some of the stores sucked dry of inventory is mind blowing! With so much more time being spent at home, Christmas for some seems like it’s going to be huge this year. That goes for everything. Gifts, decorations, traditions, and doing simple things to make the best of the weird year 2020 has been.

Before I get into the fun of the sales, I just wanted to remind you that there’s nothing you *need* on any of these lists. Or any sale for that matter! Personally, I only bought one sweater cardigan and a straw clutch for myself. There is absolutely no pressure to buy anything. If there’s one item I fully embraced in 2020, it’s white sneakers! Being at home more meant I swapped out heels and wedges for sandals and now white sneakers for fall and winter. As long as it’s not raining cats and dogs (which is has been), I wear them weekly! The best part is that they pair easy with dresses, skirts and jeans and can even make a dressier outfit more casual! I am alllll about casual these days, especially working from home.

This dress is fun because it’s actually more *dressy* than casual. When I paired it with my favorite J.Crew Factory white sneakers (under $35), I realized the dress instantly turns casual! I would honestly wear this dress with heels to a wedding because it gives those vibes and I have worn it with sneakers working from home!

I searched a bit and found this dress in a similar style with the back cut out and on sale for under $35! The dress also comes in a wrap dress with a v-cut!

My 3 Favorite Pairs of White Sneakers

I’m not sure why it took so long for me to embrace the white sneaker trend. Maybe it had to do with the Florida heat! Now that I have not one but two pairs, I love them so so much! Tretorns have really amazing reviews and if you read any blogs, you are probably aware their super popular with bloggers. The $75 price tag though was not my favorite.

When I found these J.Crew Factory sneakers for half the price, I jumped on it. They took about a week to break in and once they did, their super comfy and at a great price point to! The canvas does seem to pick up dirt and smudge marks faster but the good part is that you can throw canvas sneakers into the wash and they come out looking brand new!

I recently had a sponsored post with Bealls Florida and I was able to buy these white leather sneakers as part of the campaign! As much as I love the budget friendly canvas J.Crew Factory sneakers, I love the leather Keds for easy clean up. You can get them dirty and wet and wash them off with a damp wash cloth or paper towel!

Keep in mind the price point you want to spend when buying sneakers. My J.Crew sneakers look just as cute as the Keds or Tretorn pair, it’s just a pricing difference and of course when you buy a more expensive item, the quality is higher (most of the time).

How to Style White Sneakers

There are soooo many ways to wear white sneakers! I love styling mine with dresses the most! Both mini and midi! Maxi dresses can be styled with sneakers for comfort you just can’t see them. You can also wear them with shorts, skinny jeans, mom jeans, overalls and skirts.

White sneakers instantly make any outfit super casual. The dress I have on is polyester, so the material is more silky. You can experiment a bit and style them with pieces that are cotton, polyester, silk, flannel or a rayon/spandex mix. The ski is the limit!

My weekly Sunny Style Finds are back! This round it’s a bunch of awesome winter sales! I found 10 items (okay…11 because I absolutely couldn’t narrow it down!) I have been eyeing this entire winter that are now on major sale from an adorable Gal Meets Glam romper, a ruffled blouse to a pair of boots that will match with everything in your closet!

It feels so good to sit down and talk fashion! I’ve been cooped up all week in the house doing job stuff like creating new resumes and prepping for interviews (can we say boringggg with a capital B). If you read my 2020 goals, I said I wanted to start tying new workouts since my back has been bugging me for the past few months. Seriously, the chiro is helping it so much! But I still wanted to try some new gentle exercises just to do something new and exciting! Last week I tried aerial yoga for the first time and it was so.much.fun! Have you tried it?!

Now that it’s officially Feb, I am getting so excited for all the the fun spring arrivals to hit stores! That’s MY season for sure! Before I get to ahead of myself, I figured why not share some amazing winter sale finds! This is absolutely the best time to shop winter sales and then stash away the items to use next year! Without even meaning to, it turned into a red, white and pink theme…perfect for v-day essentials!

Gal Meet Glam Dress, $55

First off, this dress is such a steal! GMG dresses regular priced are usually around $150 and rarely on sale! How cute is the pearl neckline?! This would be the perfect dress to whip out for every holiday party, Christmas service, special event, V-day date or for a casual spring weekend.

I actually own this headband and love wearing it with a pink top or an all white outfit! The pink is so fun and girly and I LOVE the way it fits on my head! The top knot is the perfect size, not to big or to small! Yes, that’s a “headband” thing/requirement. Comes in 3 other colors!

Sperry Mules, $59.99

I actually bought these mules a few months ago during my last weeks teaching. My old Target ones we’re falling apart and I wanted a new mule I could wear that matched with everything! These are like walking on clouds, so comfy! The bottoms are extra padded and their just such a classic, everyday shoe. Their great for those in-between days and seasons!

Soludos Block Heel, $80

If I am going to buy a new pair of booties, these would be the ones! Shoes are one of those items I am willing to make an investment on. How fun are these block heel boots!? The color is so caramely and a great neutral. I find during the cooler months, I gravitate towards wearing these types of boots with dresses, skinny jeans! and straight leg pants!

Pink Mock Neck Sweater, $59.40

Okay, just did a post on affordable sweaters for pre-spring and this adorable pink mock neck one made the list! I am literally obsessed with the balloon sleeves sweaters and the fun they add to an outfit. This one looks like the perfect fit, not to over-sized but not a crop top either!

When it comes to blouses, I am the hugest sucker. You can never have enough. With Spring just around the corner, I’d love to add the pink and ivory colors to my spring wardrobe! The deep V is what really caught my eye and who can turn down a blouse with ruffles. Not me! BRB…going to order this ASAP!

J.Crew Factory Leopard Skirt, $46.50

Hello cutest leopard skirt! Is it just me, or does putting on leopard instantly make you feel sexy, a rock star and go-getter?! Ok, maybe that’s just me HA! Anyways, it’s adorable and perfect to pair with a tank or sweater with booties for fall!

J.Crew Mockneck Sweater, $56.99

Can you believe this cute and super soft sweater comes in more than 10 colors?! I love the “fake” turtleneck. So perfect for us warmer winter people! J.Crew is always having sales, so keep an eye out for this sweater to go even lower!

J.Crew High Rise Lace Pants, $99.99

Hey lace pants that have been on my wishlist since the fall! I just love the elegant lace details and feel like these would be the perfect classic and sophisticated piece to pull out every Christmas! Like I mentioned above, keep an eye out for J.Crew sales, since I know $100 is still pretty steep. When I originally picked these pants to put on this list, they were well under $100.

J.Crew Factory New City Coat, $119

I own this coat and have worn it multiple times on the blog for some winter and holiday posts and even reviewed why I decided to invest in it! I bought it on mega sale in a size 4 during a Black Friday event last year! It’s even roomy enough to fit sweaters yet still looks extremely sophisticated! Hoping this classic coat lasts me for another 10+ years!

Gal Meets Glam Romper, $75

Last but not least! This super cute romper is an unbelievable sale! If I were getting married soon, I’d scoop this up for either a rehearsal dinner or a bridal shower! Ivory is such a fun color to style! You can go bold by adding more color, or pair it with neutrals for a more classic look! Check out the pretty pearl neckline! Swoon!

Want to know a little secret?! Lets keep it just between us, okay? For the life of me, I could not figure out how to style these top knot headbands. I am supposed to be an expert in this type of stuff and I just really did not love the way I looked any time I would put on a headband. Let alone take photos…I just kind of sucked it up and posted them because I liked the headbands so much. As a blogger, I try really hard to let the small stuff go, like weird angles, minimal makeup, or just critiquing myself in general but this would not let up. At first I thought it was my longer face and the knot enhancing the long face shape, making my face just look like a big long 0 HA!

It’s safe to say, I finally figured it out! I didn’t like the way my hair looked when I was slicking back my hair with the headband! It most likely reminded me of my “growing out bangs” days in 5th grade. Did you ever have to grow out your bangs, that took approximately 239839 years until those baby hairs didn’t look so awkward?! I used to push my bangs back with a headband or use exactly 9,000 clips to keep ALL strays at bay. Mystery solved! Thank the Lord I grew out of that stage.

For this post, I thought I would save you the hassle of figuring it all out on your own! There are three ways I prefer to wear my top knot headbands, two I truly love and well, someone out there has to have a face shape for the third option, LOL! I do wear all three options, I just choose to only take photographs with two of the options. I am sure you can figure out which one.

One last thing before we get started. I really do love top knot headbands and think they can pull together any ole regular outfit. I recently started making handmade top knot headbands in my ETSY shop. The Citrus Collection was just released with bold Florida inspired prints that can be worn as an accessory into Spring! You can see how I styled them below!

1. With A Top Knot / Ponytail

Ahh, okay, so this style is my favorite at the moment! I wrapped my hair tight into a top knot, clipped it and gently placed the headband on top of my head. I find it easier to “place” the headband on than slide it because it keeps body in my hair. With the pleated skirt, pearls, and pink velvet headband, I feel like a princess!

Keep the top knot high on your head so it’s higher than the headband knot! I think is such a classy and girly way to wear the headband! Can’t wait to create more spring / summer looks with this style, especially when it’s warm out. I can already tell it will be a great way to look cute with beach hair when it’s just to hot to deal!

If you follow any fashion bloggers, they all seem to have been posting these Amazon pearl headbands. Normally I’m not into the super super popular items buzzing around the Insta-sphere but these are the exception. They come in a pack of three and I can say I.Am.A.Fan! Their amazing quality, it’s 3 for under $10 and I like having three colors to choose from when styling my outfits!

2. With Your Hair Pulled Back

Okay, I guess this style doesn’t look that bad on me but a little trick. If you part your hair slightly then slide the headband on, it gives a little more of a classy look that say’s I’m an adult and not a child! I do prefer the yellow headband look with a slight part. This style helps when it’s windy out and you want your hair out of your face. Which is basically me all of the time!

Even though I might not love the way I look with this style, I will still wear it to keep my hair pushed back….just don’t take any photos when I do. Really though, try all three styles! Depending on your face shape, hair style and length and the type of headband, it might just take a bit of experimenting to figure out which way looks best!

3. Placed Slightly in the Middle of Your Head

That is probably the weirdest title for the third option but I couldn’t think of a better way to describe it! Seriously, watch my latest IGTV because seeing it styled will be even better than reading how to!

I part my hair like normal (deep side part), then I take my cute citrus headband and hold it above my head over the spot I want it to sit on. Then I lower my hands, place it on my head and wiggle it until it’s comfortable!

No matter how you part your hair, this style will work! In the middle or on the left or right side. Bless all of you who can pull off the middle part! I actually think that would be a really cute way to wear a headband!
