On Wednesdays, we wear pink swimsuits (I know, I know, it’s only Tuesday but a girl can dream)! Yes, I am back again with a super girly and colorful roundup of the best pink summer swimsuits under $100. Have you started to warm up where you live?! I took my first swim last week and it felt amazing! My family and I love to wait until our heated pool is like 85 haha! Next weekend, I am going to Gaylord Palms in Orlando with my sister and BFF for a girls weekend and wish I would have bought this cute pink cover up! I would totally wear this bright pink simple ribbed top and high cut bottoms under the cover up (set is under $50).

Hope you had a relaxing Mother’s Day. My family had a super low key day, we played corn hole, grilled burgers and sat by the pool. This week I am dog sitting two super cute and high energy dogs, Willow and Roxy! It’s the best because I can work from home at the dog house and make extra cash! We do on walks 2-3x’s/day, play fetch and they even love to jump in the pool! Just me feeling like a dog mom over here, ha!

Finding cute and affordable swimsuits can be such a struggle! Luckily for you, I searched far and wide for the cutest affordable blue and white summer swimsuits for today’s post. Usually I can find a few very budget friendly swimsuits I love from Target and Aerie. So I am excited to share my recent finds with you guys, even though I did have a hard time finding things I loved.

Affordable Blue and White Summer Swimsuits

So to be honest this year I have not loved most of the swimmies and nothing has really popped out. Usually it’s an exciting time of year for us Florida people. The exception would be this blue gingham ruffled one shoulder swimsuit from Old Navy!

I was a little hesitant if I would really love these gingham swim bottoms. Online they looked a little retro for my taste. Usually one shoulder tops do not stay up on my small chest. This one however fits nice and snug and I feel super confident in it! For my Birthday, my family and I went to a beach in Cocoa Beach and I never had to pull or adjust my swimsuit! Plus, it has built in cups that do not slide around (biggest pet peeve!) You will be happy to hear that the entire swimsuit is under $40!

Cannot believe it’s that time already! Swimsuit season is here! Everyone on Insta and Tik Tok seems to be traveling for Spring Break or escaping to Florida to get away from the cold! It always seems super early to start talking about swimsuits but they are one of the fastest items to sell out before summer even begins. I found the cutest floral and pastel swimsuits for spring break, beach vacations, warm-weather trips and summer travels!

Spring Break and beyond is really time for my blog to shine and makes me the most excited! Swimsuits are a huge summer essential and there are so many cute ones out there. We are supposed to experience some swimsuit weather on Thursday this week and I am already planning on tanning during my lunch break. The pollen might be horrid (my allergies have been slowly killing me lately) but that will not stop me from enjoying the sun! I keep dreaming of wearing this cute yellow striped swimsuit (only $29.99!) lounging by the pool with a yellow striped Cabana towel and a good book.

Swimsuits can get expensive! I am not one to spend $100 on a swimsuit but I just love this colorful confetti bikini top and bottom from Summersalt. It’s made from recycled fabric and the print makes me so happy! I am planning on ordering a Summersalt swimsuit after seeing rave reviews on Instagram and then I will review it on here once I wear it! I also love this very retro inspired floral high waited bikini top and bottom from J.Crew.

I am obsessed with this pink gingham one piece and love the ruffles. If you have a small chest like I do, the ruffles are a great distraction! How adorable is this classic striped one piece with a plunging neckline (under $50)!? This one looks extra sturdy like it will hold up for outside activities and fun in the sun!

How was your weekend?! Like I mentioned above, my allergies have been slowly killing me. I will have better days than others but for the most part, you feel constantly drowsy like you have a cold and are taking gallons of Nyquil. Sunday I stayed inside all day and did basically nothing since I felt so sick. April is going to be a much better month pollen wise and I will welcome my Birthday month with open arms ha! During the summer, I love a good striped swimsuit. They are classic, timeless and if they swimsuit is designed well, the stripes are also flattering! One thing I keep in mind when buying swimsuits is making sure they are budget friendly. For a small piece of stretchy fabric, they can get pretty expensive! All of the ones I included are under $75!

If you would look on my porch right now, my room, shower or bathroom, you would find swimsuits everywhere. Their either soaking wet from getting a bath to help them last longer, half way dry or waiting to be worn again for beach and pool days! At least half of them are striped and it makes me so happy when I look at them!

One style I am drooling over for summer are one shoulder swimsuits. One piece and bikinis! This stripes are an added bonus! Do you remember when off the shoulder tops were all the rage? Now it’s switched to one side suits. This swimsuit from J.Crew Factory sold out over 4th of July weekend and I sure know why. I loveeee the ruffle on the top. It’s the perfect distraction from a smaller chest and feels extra girly!

J.Crew has a super similar blue and white striped suit with a ruffle (it comes in red to!). It’s a little more on the pricey side for me but if you watch it closely, it’s bound to go on sale soon! J.Crew is always having some kind of sale. I found a few really beautiful similar striped swimsuits like this ruffled one piece (under $35) and this striped one piece (under $12).

Some of my favorite shorts to wear with my swimsuits are denim cut offs! I usually buy all of my cut offs from American Eagle. I own a bunch of light pairs and a few dark pairs. Actually, if you looked in my drawer, I’d be slightly embarrassed with how many I actually own. Their super comfortable, match with any swimsuit and can be paired with girly tops and sandals during a warm summer day when your not at the beach or pool.

Style Tip: If you wear high-waisted swimuit, you can roll the top down so it does not stick out of your shorts! I’ve put on really low denim shorts before and had to laugh at how funny my high waist swimsuit bottoms looked. The higher the shorts are the less you will have to worry about this.

A few of my other favorite striped swimsuits that I have my eye on is this striped one shoulder top and high waisted swim bottoms (comes in red and blue!). I also love this green ruffled Aerie top and bikini bottoms. They have the most affordable swimsuits ever that are amazing quality! Last but not least is this fun rainbow colored striped top and boyfriend bottoms that will add happiness to your day!

After a weekend full of sun and living in a swimsuit, I decided to dedicate this post to all things summer related! It includes a new sunscreen travel pack I want to try, a few of my favorite summer swimsuits and the straw hat I can’t get enough of!

Did everyone have a great 4th of July? I spent the entire weekend in the sun and am feeling it as a type this. Today I got a little toooo much sun at the beach if you know what I mean. #lobster Anyways, it felt like an extremely long weekend and I am so thankful to that!!!

My beach bag is always filled with different sunscreens for my face and body. After my beach day today, I realized I am running super low on my body sunscreen! I have been wanting to try Supergoop since last year and am finally going to make the plunge. I love this travel kit to get a taste of the sunscreen. Once I try it, I will give a thorough review!

How fun is this floral print with tie strap swimsuit? Growing up, I don’t remember having this many cute printed suits to choose from. It’s so girly!

Ah, so I have owned these shoes for about a year and a half now and love them! I use them for beach days, gardening, by the pool and taking walks at night. Their super versatile and the dirt rinses right off of them. Bloggers have been calling them Birken-crocks because it’s like birkenstocks and crocks had a baby, ha!

Target Adjustable Visor, $12.99

You may not know this about me but I always wear a visor when I am outside at the beach or pool. My friends always laugh and me because I look like a soccer mom, ha! I love it lightens my hair while still keeping the sun off of my face! This straw one from Target has a tie and can be easily adjusted to fit your head size. It’s nice to be able to tie it tighter for bike rides or windy beach days!

Summer has officially hit and it is HOT with a capital T. I’ve been wearing swimsuits almost every day for afternoon pool swims and weekend beach days. I wear swimsuits so much in the summer, I make sure to take care of them so they will last me until the next year.

When I was a teen and *had* to have the coolest swimsuit, I always begged my mom to buy me one new Roxy swimsuit for summer. Even though $80 wasn’t exactly cheap, I cannot tell you how well that swimsuit stood up. I used to think it was just about the brand but then I started to see the difference in how I took care of my swimsuits. The worst is when you buy a brightly colored swimsuit and it fades in a few wears. Been there done that and it’s not fun. Of course, if you buy a higher quality swimsuit, the color will last much longer and stay more vibrant. But even some of my more budget friendly swimsuits have lasted just as long and I give all credit to how I take care of them!

Living in Florida, you have you beach swimsuits and your pool swimsuits. At least I do! Most pools have high counts of chlorine and it naturally will bleach your suit making the color fade super quickly. When I retire a swimsuit, I make it my new pool swimsuit. Even though chlorine is damaging, if you don’t rinse the salty water off from the beach or even fresh water like a lake or spring, it can still damage the fabric.

How to Care for Your Swimsuits

1. Hand Wash Them In The Sink (or Shower) After Every Wear

This is my #1 rule! As soon as I am I done wearing my swimsuit, I take it off and rinse it in the shower or sink without fail. No matter if it has pool, ocean, springs or lake water on it, I make sure to rinse it thoroughly. Sometimes I’ll even hop in the shower and rise it off while I am still wearing it!

If you don’t rinse your swimsuit you risk the fabric corroding or disintegrating, especially with harsh chlorine or salt water. Both are equally harsh if left on the fabric. With my experience, chlorine will make the colors fade and salt makes the fabric much stiffer.

You can also scrub with a gentle bar of soap and then soak them for 10-30 minutes in the sink! Personally, I like the shower because it’s the quickest and easiest way.

2. Hang To Dry

I might sound like a broken record but caring for your swimsuits is really about keeping the colors vibrant and the fabric looking like new. Hanging your swimsuits will help them to dry the fastest!

Never, ever throw your swimsuits in the dryer. As soon as you do, the color will be about 1-2 shades lighter in one wash. How do I know it?! Because I’ve for sure made that mistake and vowed to never make it again.

3. Machine Wash Only When Absolutely Necessary

The three times I wash my swimsuits in the wash machine is if it’s *that time of the month*, somehow I got food on them and the stain won’t come out or there’s tiny specks of sand that won’t come out no matter how many times I rinse them. There’s a certain sanitation line I just don’t want to risk ha! When I was researching for this post, I found a really awesome eco-friendly company that sells a gentle detergent. I will probably order some for washing fabrics like spandex, silk, polyester and synthetics like swimsuits.

Personally, I try to only wash my swimsuits if they are really dirty. That might be like every 3-4 months or if I went on a trip and they took on a weird smell. Soaking them for 30 minutes should do the same trick if you are using a gentle detergent. Never ever dry them! Just hang to dry!

4. Avoid Sun In or Beauty Products with Bleach

This will turn any swimsuit from a bright color to pale yellow in 3 seconds flat. In the past I have used sun in to lighten my hair and accidentally spilled some on my swimsuit. It looked so horrible and splotchy! Basically it’s like pouring straight bleach onto your swimsuit! Not a good idea.

5. Don’t Slide Against Rough Surfaces

Like I mentioned above, I have beach swimsuits and pool swimsuits. Most pools have really rough surfaces and decks. The worst is when you slide on a step or the deck and it pulls on the delicate spandex fabric. It will create these small balls called pilling. I usually put down a towel to sit on and don’t scrape my butt across a step if I am sitting. This step alone will really keep your swimsuits looking beautiful!

We’re onto blue swimsuits for my summer swimsuit guide! Last week I covered red swimsuits under $50 and this week it’s all about classic styles to wear for years to come! We had a cold sprint last week which was amazing and perfect to get a tan and dip my feet in the pool! Especially now that Florida is shelter in place, the pool is my escape. Now that April is here, it usually brings all the May flowers, April showers and the first (or second) swim of the season! My fav thing ever!

I loveeee blue swimsuits. My favorite classic navy swimsuit is high wasited and is usually my go-to when I want to feel extra girly and cute at the beach. Actually, blue and stripes in general are one of my go-to’s and in a swim style it’s no different. For some reason I didn’t include it but this top and bottom striped high waisted bikini is my absolute favorite right now and currently 50% off.

How are you doing lately?

My Birthday is today, which I guess I could have planned a better post than swimsuits ha! Its the big 3-0 and super weird to be celebrating at home during a major pandemic. Really, it could be worse and my Birthdays are usually low key anyways! Maybe I should write something up about what I learned in my 20’s and what I hope to learn, do and accomplish in my 30’s!

The days have really started to blur together. I’ve been keeping myself occupied with working, blogging here and there and keeping myself entertained but it’s been hard to find motivation the last few days. THANK THE LORD my workouts are now being offered on ZOOM because I am not sure I would be able to keep up with the high intensity workouts all by myself. I miss my gym friends, laughing with people and just seeing people in general. I THRIVE off human interaction even though I can I can still see my family and sister.

There was one rough day this week where I don’t know if it’s the struggle of turning 30 and not being where I want in life, a mix or hormones or just feeling all the heaviness of what’s going on. I finished what I needed to with work and took a nap with my cute kitty just because. The next day was much better and I was back to feeling normal. Guess it’s just the ups and downs of everything going on, reminding myself it will pass and that we can have blah days.

Well, here we are people! It’s skipped straight to summer here in Florida and I am READY! Doing my part to #socialdistance (does that word annoy anyone else?!) has given me extra time to spend at the pool and beach. BTW, extra grateful for this, I know not everyone has the luxury to swim or step outside in an open space right now!

Once it really warms up for good, I basically live in swimsuits. There’s honestly almost no point to even shower. Today I worked and actually put on clothes (shock, I know) then changed right into my swimsuit once I was done to tan and swim. It’s always so exciting to choose which swimsuit to wear and I really like options.

Since I live in swimsuits for almost 6 months of the year, I figured I would share my favorite brands, scour the internet for budget friendly and quality suits over the next few weeks. Sunshine Style really thrives in the summer! I thought about doing it by prices and styles and I might organize some of them like that but it made most sense to do it by colors. If you like a suit, just bookmark this page and refer back to it when shopping!

Red swimsuits have always caught my eye! This one give a little bit of a Baywatch vibe, don’t yah think?! I do my absolute best to keep my swimsuits like new as long as possible. They have about a 2-3 season span depending on how high of quality the material is. When I buy swimsuits, I usually shop for swimsuits for under $50 that are made really well.

I stopped in LOFT before the coronavirus really took over and bought this cute swimsuit for under $30 in store. The swimsuit was such high quality and I LOVED the fit as soon as I tried it on. Right now with LOFT stores closed, it is probably best to shop online. It’s not available online, but I found a similar top and bottom (under $35).

The high waist trend really has my heart right now. Every time I see someone wearing them, I want to go and buy a million pairs. Make sure the bottoms are stretchy enough and you can pull them down a bit so you don’t get an awkward tan line when sun bathing. The ONLY downfall to high waisted bottoms in my opinion.

Even if it’s not warm yet where you live, it will be eventually and now is actually the perfect time to stock up and buy swimmies! They typically sell out or sizes are super limited by early/mid May. If were going to be quarantined for who knows how long, we might as well get tan!
