A few weeks ago, we were looking for a nearby activity that would be appropriate to do during this time. I came across a local u-pick blueberry farm (we went to Champney’s) and it sounded like the perfect afternoon excursion, plus blueberries are one of Clementine’s favorite foods. We went in the middle of the week and we were the only people there for a good while! The place was big enough that I don’t think we ever saw another person while we were picking, too. It was so nice to get out of the house and enjoy an outdoor activity with little C. As much as we’ve loved spending time at home with her, I love seeing her light up when she sees something new for the first time. We got really lucky with an unusually cooler day for summer in Charleston, as now if we’re heading outside, it’s most likely to play in the sprinklers or our kiddie pool.
We ended up picking a big basket full of blueberries. But don’t worry, we didn’t let them go to waste! We’ve been making blueberry muffins, adding them to our granola and yogurt, plus saving the rest to add to smoothies. My mom and my sister came along for the fun, too, and I’ll treasure these pictures of all of us for forever.
